The Zanzibar Fighting Against Youth Challenges Organization (ZAFAYCO)
The Zanzibar Fighting Against Youth Challenges Organization (ZAFAYCO) is a non-profit organization that has been serving the youth in Zanzibar's Unguja and Pemba Islands since its establishment in 2011. The organization is dedicated to empowering Zanzibari youth in the face of economic, political, and social challenges, with a focus on raising awareness, building capacity, and fostering networks. With more than a decade of experience, ZAFAYCO has built a strong track record by successfully implementing over 30 projects and programs, spanning four critical thematic areas: civic engagement, economic empowerment, health, and environmental sustainability. Currently, ZAFAYCO boasts a membership of 41 active individuals within the organization, comprising 25 females and 17 males. Additionally, there are four dedicated Board of Trustees members, consisting of one male and three females.
MISSION AND VISION
To see Zanzibar youth are very active and flexible in order that they can handle current economic, political and social challenges.
ZAFAYCO is dedicated towards promoting young people through awareness raising, capacity building and networking programs which are youth centered, environmental friendly and development oriented.
